Community Action recognises all volunteering and gives accreditation to those who have completed over 30 hours of volunteering to record their volunteering activities.
The RHUL Volunteering Awards Celebration takes place annually in June where recognition is given to volunteers through presentation of Get Recognised Volunteering Accreditation & vawards . The Mayor of Runnymede sponsors the 'Student of the Year' by presenting the Mayor's Cup, and Students' Union RHUL sponsors the Best Volunteering Club and the Best Volunteering Society of the year trophies.
Get Recognised - volunteer and community partner feedback forms
The Get Recognised scheme is Royal Holloway's volunteering accreditation for all students and staff who have volunteered in the local community throughout the year. On an annual basis (April) all our registered volunteers and community partners are asked to complete a short online feedback form which captures what and how much volunteering students and staff have done during the year.
Vawards can be achieved for 50 or 100 hours of recorded volunteering in the community. This is a nationally recognised scheme and is available to all Community Action volunteers (15-25 years old).
Volunteering England Gold Awards are presented each year during Student Volunteering Week (late February) to those students who have show great leadership, achievement, and dedication to the community through their volunteering. This is a peer nomination scheme which is judged by a panel of student peers.
The Students' Union activities office has a Duke of Edinburgh Award Unit to enable students to continue or start their DofE Award throughout the year. It provides an enjoyable, challenging and rewarding personal development programme. This is run in three levels of Bronze, Silver and Gold, in sections involving Volunteering, Skills, Physcial Recreation, Expedition and Residential Project.
